Cire Trudon has invited Arquiste Parfumeur to create a unique new scent for one of its candles. Arquiste Parfumeur has chosen to celebrate this esteemed Franco-Mexican collaboration by recreating a balmy night described by Empress Carlota of Mexico on her visit to the city of Merida, Yucatan in 1865. Centering on the exuberant, multi-layered fragrance of the guava tree, it evokes succulent ripe fruit, intoxicating blossoms, foliage and bark, enveloped by elegant woody notes of mahogany and "palo primavera", with just a hint of firework gunpowder reminiscent of fireworks. An altogether intriguing, sumptuous scent.

Heart Notes - Guava tree blossom, gunpowder accord, orange tree flower and "Flor de Clavito" choisya blossom absolutes

New Astier de Villatte delivery

I love Astier de Villatte. When I was recently in Paris I attended the Maison Objet trade fair and as you do got carried away buying all the wonderful ceramics.

We took delivery of 5 new fragranced candles to take our collection to 21. These candles are amazing.

The new vases are just gorgeous. I had my heart in my mouth unpacking everything, but thankfully all arrived in perfect condition.

I still have some of Noel's wonderful paper flowers (Fanciful Designs) on display. I think they are a perfect accompaniment to ADV.

This is the Astier de Villatte display in it's entirety. I think it looks pretty good!

My new 'gems' have arrived from Paris - the exclusive parfum extraits by James Heeley - Paris.

Agarwoud - a deep woody fragrance combining - Incense, Rose, Oud, Amber, Benzoin

Bubblegum Chic - a joyous floral combining - Strawberry, Sambac Jasmine, Tuberose, White Musk

L'Amandiere - a green floral combining - Green Almond, Hyacinth, Jasmine, Rose, Green Grass

These fragrances are designed to last on the skin. This exclusive collection is only available at Peony in Australia. Priced at $275 for a 50ml extrait de parfum.

Hippie Rose is a new addition to the Eau de Parfums taking our collection to 11. Hippie Rose is a divine Patchouli Rose. I love this fragrance and I am finding that I am wearing this fragrance more and more - my new favourite. The Hippie Rose is priced at $230 for 100ml.

Happy Easter everyone!

I love Easter and I adore Autumn, it is my favourite season. This is the time of year we have a really good excuse for eating more chocolate than we should and I swear I turn into a hot cross bun - Phillipa's Hot Cross buns are the best!! I only wish I could have a box full of Pierre Herme macarons and their fabulous raspberry and violet jam and I would be a very happy girl!!

Just to let all my Astier de Villatte fans know we are expecting a huge shipment (200kgs+) of new fragranced candles and lots of ceramics. I couldn't resist all the jugs and new items on display at the Maison Objet fair in January so I don't know where I will put it all but I am sure I will manage.

So just in case you would like to give something fragrant instead of chocolate, we have an equally decadent array of divine candles, body creams and perfumes as a low calorie substitute!
