Just wanted to wish everyone a 'Joyeuse Fêtes' and to let you know that the store is closed until the 18th January, where the beautiful Anyes will be there to welcome you to the store. I always get quite nostalgic this time of year - wishing the world would slow down a bit and taking some time to really enjoy what the Festive Season is all about.

As my thoughts turn towards my trip to Paris in early January, my wish is that the Christmas decorations are still up and it snows.....

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ...

Our centre tables are simply burgeoning with all our new Christmas stock.

New from Miller Harris is the delicious Tuberose body cream - a must for every girls Christmas stocking. Travel sets with Citron Citron - shower gel, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner - perfect!! Tangerine Vert has just been released as a candle - for all those citrus lovers!

Our little Christmas tree is decorated with vintage roman numerals - simple! Our newest offerings by Astier de Villatte - Books, pencils, perfumed erasers, Jerusalem candle, set of 3 ceramic candles (too cute) and the heavenly boxed incense.

The new fragrances by Miller Harris are truly divine - La Fumee and La Pluie - I love La Pluie as it is a wonderful exotic floral where La Fumee is warm and smoky. We have Miller Harris candle sets - one woody and one oriental and our favourite Fleur Oriental comes in a 615g version - the perfect hostess gift.

Just in for Christmas we have some hampers from Daylesford Provenders - full of goodies both sweet and savoury from all our favourite places - I love the rose petal jelly. Perfect as a gift for a family or that person who is difficult to buy for.

Creed 1760

In 1760, in London, James Henry Creed founded the House of Creed. It rapidly became a favourite with the Court of England and Queen Victoria appointed Creed as an official supplier.

Shortly after the House of Creed was chosen by all the Royal courts of Europe; from Napoleon III, to Empress Eugenia, Francois-Joseph and Elizabeth of Austria-Hungary, and Queen Christina of Spain, Creed's creations were recognised for their quality, refinement and originality.

In 1854, under the direction of Empress Eugenia, the House of Creed moved to Paris and soon acquired notoriety. With a very selective clientele, Creed went on creating unique perfumes, masterpieces of creativity. More than two hundred exclusive perfumes, all original and hand-made, were created by the Creed family over the years.

Today the house of Creed is headed by Olivier Creed and his son Erwin.

We have 22 fragrances in store, so we are sure to include some of your favourites. We have also some of their divine candles just in time for Christmas.

A perfume fit for a Queen

Black Jade eau de parfum has arrived in store. It is the most divine fragrance, a delicious melange of Bergamot, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Jasmine, Rose, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean and Vanilla. Priced at $249 for 100ml.

We are eagerly awaiting the delivery of Lubin's Black Jade fragrance. I couldn't wait to share with you the beautiful imagery that will be making a splash in our store window.

Annick Goutal Skincare

We are delighted to announce that we have just received our delivery of Annick Goutal skincare.

Annick Goutal has remained faithful to the magic of the rose. The Splendide skincare is richly formulated using the sap of the petal and this rich active ingredient is extremely concentrated with anti-free radical, energising, revitalising, moisturising and bactericide properties.

Active Rose serum contains everything needed to keep skin in optimal condition. This natural elixir is brimming with trace elements (magnesium, calcium..) and hightly concentrated in vitamins (A, B5, E, F and C), giving it a unique anti-ageing property. Aesop Petitgrain Hydrating Gel

The eagerly anticipated 'Petitgrain Hydrating body gel' has finally arrived. This easily absorbed gel cools as well as softens the skin. It's fragranced with my favourite citrus's grapefruit and lemon peel oils.

Aesop's first moisturising gel is enhanced with panthenol to soften, Aloe Vera juice to hydrate and Witch Hazel with its anti-oxidant properties.

The body gel comes in a 120ml tube and 500ml pump pack which are priced at $35 and $100 respectively.

Our First Competition

To celebrate the re launch of the Rue Rance fragrances, including 2 new fragrances - Rue de Noblesse and Eau Superbe, we are having our first competition.

The Langham

The Langham Hotel located at Southbank in Melbourne will be the exquisite venue for next Saturday's French High Tea. This is my favourite image - what a beautiful dress.

I hope you have all booked your tickets - this is the most glamorous foyer that will greet you on your arrival.

The is the Clarendon ballroom which will be the venue for the High Tea. If you are tempted please book your tickets through Le Style.

Just unpacking

I love getting deliveries from France - it makes you feel like a child at Christmas. Astier de Villatte have sent me all these goodies to look at including incense, notebooks, hand washes and lotions and some amazing dish washing liquid.

We have added to our candle range and now stock 15 fragrances. We have added rue Saint Victor, Rocquebrune, Algier, Saint Cirq Lapopie and Dehli. Definitely worth a 'sniff' when you next visit.

Peony loves Dad

Don't forget that it's Father's Day this coming Sunday 4th September. We have some beautiful items that he is going to love.

Acqua di Parma do a wonderful shaving range and we have some of their shaving sets which come in a wonderful monogrammed wet pack - perfect!

These beautiful shaving brushes from Acca Kappa are sure to impress. They are made from the finest badger hair encased in makassar wood. The range also includes a hair brush and clothes brush.

We have also introduced the Moroccan Neroli shaving duet from Aesop. My husband uses this and loves it.

There are lots of Peony ideas for that special father and of course we love wrapping all your gifts with our compliments.

Toothpaste fit for a King!

I had to have this for the store. I love the image above, now I have to find an original toothpaste container in my never ending search for all things vintage.

This toothpaste and mouthwash was amazingly invented in 1755 by Dr. Julien Botot for King Louis XV of France. The natural formula works to draw extra blood to the gum line. Botot toothpaste is recognised by the Royal Society of Medicine as a superior natural product! True to its original formulation, Botot remains a best seller the world over.

The mouthwash contains a natural gillyflower (clove family) base. The mouthwash warms the gum line and as it is an exilir you only need a few drops in a glass of warm water and gargle to do the trick. There are no artificial flavours or colours and follows the original formula.

The toothpaste is $20 for a 75ml tube and the mouthwash is $35 for 150ml.

We are increasing our range of male grooming products in time for Father's Day so I will be introducing you to all our new lines over the next few weeks.

L'Heure du Thé

Peony is proud to have been invited to participate in a French Themed High Tea to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The event will be held in the luxurious ballroom at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne.

Each guest will be treated to a High Tea, beauty salon treatments, a shopping and sampling emporium of French Design, pampering products and lifestyle collections. Each attendee will receive a luxurious sample bag of French themed treats and products valued at over $300.

Jardin sur le Toit

Hermes have launched a fourth fragrance in their Jardin range - 'Jardin sur le Toit', the translation being Garden on the roof. If you manage to get hold of the BBC series 'Perfume' there is a segment where Jean Claude Ellena (the perfumeur) is going through the creative process and it is facinating to go behind the scenes. There actually is a garden on the roof of the Hermes boutique in Paris - see picture below.

The fragrance is a perfectly balanced Crisp Floral with Rose at its heart. The structure of the fragrance opens with apple and pear notes with middle notes of magnolia and rose. The dry down of green herbs gives this fragrance that wonderful transparency.

This beautiful composition comes in a 50ml and 100ml eau de toilette and is priced at $115 and $160 respectively.

The ultimate accessory

These wonderful Travalo atomisers are perfect for travel and make your favourite perfume totally transportable. All you do is remove the top of the atomiser of your perfume and insert the base of the Travalo and depress. The atomiser can hold 4mls of perfume and can be reused.

At the moment we have the black and pink available with the gold and silver arriving soon.

The Travalo atomisers are priced at $25 each and if you want to carry more than one we have these gorgeous leather pouches that hold 3 atomisers - priced at $30.
