Our new candles and colognes by Astier de Villatte, Paris are winging their way to Melbourne and should be here in time for Mother's Day. I will post when they arrive!!!

Les Parfums d'Intérieur

Cire Trudon introduces 'Les Parfums d'Intérieur' - a collection of beautifully hand-crafted interior perfume atomisers.

I must say I have been waiting in avid anticipation of this products arrival. These luxurious room sprays have been created in the style of antique atomisers with bottles in moulded green glass, which carry the Cire Trudon emblem, topped with an elegant golden 'poire' atomiser. Each glass is shaped by artisans from Vinci, in Italy.

We launch with Mademoiselle de la Vallière - the seductive fragrance of tuberose. Ernesto, Abd el Kader, Spriritus Sancti will follow later.

The boxed atomiser is 375ml and priced at $199.

'Le Mimosa' candle and perfume

Annick Goutal launches 'Le Mimosa' - Isabelle Doyen and Camille Goutal offer us their interpretation of one of the perfumeurs most beloved flowers. A beautiful floral fragrance with crisp notes.

Head Notes: Bergamot, Anise

Heart Notes: Mimosa

Base Notes: Iris, Sandalwood, Peach, Musk

This is Annick Goutal's window in Paris for the launch of Mimosa, I thought you might enjoy.

Mimosa is definitely following a theme, Paris's famous purveyor of delicious macaroons have launched their 'Mimosa' candle. Beautiful buttercup yellow bisque container with yellow wax. Smells just like our Australian wattle.

The Laduree candle's are priced at $99. For those of you who are tea lovers the black 'Othello' candle is back in stock.

Robert Piguet launches Calypso

Once again Robert Piguet captivates us with the relauch of Calypso, first introduced in 1959. A lush oriental fragrance created by the celebrated perfumeur Aurelien Guichard.

Top notes: Mandarin, Geranium

Heart notes: Iris, Bulgarian Rose

Base notes: Patchouli, Amber, Suede

The fragrance comes in 2 sizes - 50ml Eau de Parfum - $150 and 100ml Eau de Parfum - $230

High Tea and Perfume

We will be holding one of our wonderful Perfume Workshops at the store on Sunday 29th May from 2pm to 5pm. It is for all of you who would like to learn more about fragrance, perfumers, the history of fragrance, fragrance families, natural V's synthetic materials, classic fragrances, methods of extraction and much more.

I have a wonderful collection of vintage and antique perfume bottles, so you get to see some of the most beautiful bottles from the past. There will also be a 'perfume organ' of raw materials for you to see and experience.

The afternoon would not be complete without the wonderful High Tea we provide for you from the very talented Julie Parks from Egg Unlimited. Champagne and soft drinks will be served.

This event is limited to 10 attendees. The cost is $195 per person, with $50 of your fee to be redeemed towards your fragrance of choice. A luxury sample bag and extensive notes are yours to take home with you.

A delicious addition

Aesop's much anticipated addition to it's Geranium Leaf body care range - the Body Scrub - arrives at Peony!

The Geranium Leaf body scrub contains two grades of milled Pumice and micronised Bamboo Stem to provide exfoliation, while Geranium Leaf oil soothes and calms the skin. Mandarin and Bergamot oils are included for their ability to purify and disinfect. The scrub detoxifies and cleanses the body - sloughing away dead surface cells without scratching or damaging the skin.

This deliciously fragrant scrub comes in a convenient 170ml tube and is priced at $35.

Easter Treats

Peony has some gorgeous goodies brought in especially for Easter time.

Fragonard have introduced their very beautiful Fleur d'Oranger fragrance in their signature heart shaped soap in the muslin bag, priced at $35, is sure to tempt you and no calories! There is also a set of four pebble soaps, boxed for $35. The matching candle in their famous white ceramic container is $65.

We have organised with our favourite candle purveyor 'Cire Trudon' some of their mini candelina's in our favourite fragrances Ernesto and Mlle de la Valliere - presented in an organdie bag for $25 each.

For those who can't do without a chocolate fix we have some cute little chocolates from the delicious Italian chocolate house of Caffarel - priced at $4.50 each.

Tommi Sooni's latest offering

I am very proud to announce that my good friend Steven Broadhurst, the creative director behind Tommi Sooni has chosen Peony to launch his second Eau de Parfum 'Jinx'.

Jinx is a gorgeous Soft Floral with classically balanced notes:

Head Notes: Ripe Fig, Green Vine Leaves, Grapefruit, Basil, Aldehydes

Heart Notes: Muguet, Rose Wardia, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine

Base Notes: Crystallised Ginger, Vetiver, White Moss, Cistus Labdanum, Ambergris, White Musk

The Jinx perfume story:
